has 12 universities within the World’s Top 100, only next to the United
States and Britain and No.1 in Asia, according to the 14th edition of QS
World University Rankings released on Thursday.
周四，英国高等教育资讯和分析数据提供商QS发布了第14届世界大学排名。中国共有12所大学进入了世界前100名，仅次于美国和英国，位列亚洲第一。
The latest edition of the rankings also showed that, of the Chinese
universities included in the Top 100, six of them are from the Chinese
mainland. Meanwhile, 38 Chinese universities are within the World’s Top
500.
最新排行榜榜显示，世界前100名大学其中有六所大学来自中国大陆。另外，共有38所中国大学进入世界前500名。
Among the institutions in the Chinese mainland, Tsinghua University
ranks the highest, at the world’s Top 25. Its ranking is higher than UC
Berkeley(27th) and University of Tokyo (28th).
在上榜的中国大陆高校中，清华大学位列第25名，是中国排名最高的学府，超过了加州伯克利（27名）和东京大学（28名）。
In total, China is home to more top-100 institutions than any other
Asian nation. It is ahead of Japan (five), South Korea (five) and
Singapore (two). In fact, only two nations in the world are home to more
elite universities: Britain (16), and the United States (31).
总体来看，中国已经成为拥有世界百强大学最多的国家。日本和韩国各有5所，新加坡拥有2所。事实上，世界上只有两个国家百强大学的数量超过中国：英国（16所）和美国（31）所。
Chinese universities’ ability to attract global talents are going from
strength to strength, with notable progress in international faculty
ratio and international students ratio, according to QS.

QS has been compiling university rankings since 2004, when they
published their inaugural QS World University Rankings.
QS公司从2004年开始编纂世界大学排名，并于当年发布了首份世界大学排名。
