Xi Jinping’s upcoming visit to the Middle East and Africa will be "an
important diplomatic activity" for boosting unity and cooperation with
developing countries amid profound changes in the global situation, a
senior diplomat said on Friday.
中国外交部发言人周五表示，在全球形势发生深刻变化的情况下，习近平主席对中东和非洲进行访问将成为促进发展中国家之间团结与合作的“重要外交活动”。
Vice-Foreign Minister Kong Xuanyou said at a Beijing news briefing that
it will be the first visit of a Chinese head of state to the United Arab
Emirates in 29 years, and the first trip to Rwanda by a Chinese
president.
外交部副部长孔铉佑在北京新闻发布会上说，这将是29年来中国国家元首首次访问阿拉伯联合酋长国，也是中国国家主席首次访问卢旺达。
Xi will make state visits to the UAE, Senegal, Rwanda and South Africa
from Thursday until July 24 and attend the 10th BRICS Summit in
Johannesburg from July 25 to 27. The president will visit Mauritius
during a stopover there from July 27 to 28.
习近平将于7月19日至7月24日对阿联酋、塞内加尔、卢旺达和南非进行国事访问，并于7月25日至27日参加在约翰内斯堡举行的第10届金砖国家峰会。之后将于7月27日至28日期间访问毛里求斯。
The Belt and Road Initiative will be an important focus since countries
in the Middle East and Africa have a strong desire to take part in the
initiative, Kong said. Xi will discuss how to better achieve win-win
cooperation and build consensus.
孔铉佑表示，“一带一路”倡议将成为此行的重要焦点，因为中东和非洲国家有强烈的愿望参与这项倡议。习主席此行将与各国商讨如何更好地实现合作共赢，建立共识。
China hopes the initiative will create more economic cooperation, draw
the countries closer through culture and boost friendship and mutual
trust, Kong said.
孔铉佑说，中国希望这一倡议能够创造更多的经济合作，通过文化纽带紧密协作，增进友谊和互信。
China welcomes African countries to help build the Belt and Road.
Cooperation will also be discussed at the Beijing Summit of the Forum on
China-Africa Cooperation in September, he said.
他说，中国欢迎非洲国家一起建设“一带一路”，9月举行的中非合作论坛北京峰会也将讨论此方面的合作问题。
The UAE was the first Gulf state that established a strategic
partnership with China, Kong said. The visit will push forward Belt and
Road construction in the Gulf and promote peace and stability in the
Middle East, he said.
“阿联酋是第一个与中国建立战略伙伴关系的海湾国家”，孔铉佑说，“这次访问将推动海湾地区的一带一路建设，促进中东地区的和平与稳定。”
Zhang Jun, director-general of the Foreign Ministry’s international
economics department, said the BRICS summit is expected to voice
agreement on safeguarding multilateralism and building an open world
economy. BRICS countries are strongly against unilateralism and
protectionism, which have now become the common concerns and worries of
the international community, Zhang said.
外交部国际经济部部长张军表示，预计金砖国家峰会将就维护多边主义和建设开放的世界经济达成协议。金砖国家强烈反对单边主义和保护主义，现在已成为国际社会的共同关切和担忧。
