一战期间，一批德国人遗留在了远离故土的他乡——中国青岛。一百年以后，他们的亲人不远万里来到青岛探寻父辈的故事。影片主角德国老人霍夫曼就是其中的一位。
During the First World War, some German people stayed in Qingdao, China,
a place far away from their home. A hundred years later, their families
traveled thousands of miles to explore their stories in Qingdao. The old
man Hoffmann in this movie is one of them.
故事从青岛的百年老建筑——中山路一号的壁炉开始，由一块缺失的图案揭开霍夫曼的父亲一战后留在青岛终老之谜。在青岛市档案馆工作人员琳的帮助下，霍夫曼终于找到了真正的答案，并爱上了这座美丽的城市……
The story started from the fireplace of a 100-year-old building located
at 1 Zhongshan Road in Qingdao. From a missing piece of the design on
the fireplace, the secret why Hoffmann’s father stayed in Qingdao after
the First World War until his death was uncovered. With the help of Lin,
an archivist from Qingdao Municipal Archives, Hoffmann finally found the
answer and fell in love with this beautiful city...
