Foreign Minister Wang Yi and his Japanese counterpart Fumio Kishida held
talks in Beijing on Saturday morning.
本周六早晨，中国外交部长王毅和来访的日本外相岸田文雄在北京举行了会晤。
During the opening remarks, Wang stressed that China-Japan ties must be
based on respect for history, adherence to commitment, and on
cooperation rather than confrontation.
在会谈正式开始之前的开场致辞中，王毅部长强调中日关系必须建立在尊重历史和坚持承诺的基础上，要强调合作而不是对抗。
China and Japan are neighbors, Wang said, stressing that China is
willing to develop a healthy and stable relationship with Japan.
王毅部长说道，中国和日本是一衣带水的国家，中国愿意和日本方面建立一个健康、稳定的友好关系。
"We hope that your visit will play a positive role in actual improvement
of China-Japan ties," said Wang.
王毅部长对岸田文雄说道：“我们希望你此次的来访可以在切实提升中日双边关系上起到积极的作用。”
The China-Japan relations went through twists and turns in recent years,
due to reasons best known by Japan, according to Wang.
王毅部长说道，近年来，中日双边关系经历了较大了反复和曲折，而这其中的原因，日本方面最清楚。
Wang said he is ready to listen to Kishida’s opinion about how to
improve bilateral relations, and equally important is whether Japan will
turn its words into deeds.
王毅部长说他已经准备好了听取岸田文雄对于如何提升中日双边关系的意见，而且同样重要的是，日本方面是否会切实履行诺言。
Wang expressed sympathy to Japan over the deadly earthquakes in
mid-April.
王毅部长还对4月中旬发生的熊本地震表示了同情。
Kishida is paying an official visit to China from Friday to Sunday, the
first by Kishida since he took office over three years ago and a
Japanese foreign minister in four-and-a-half years.
岸田文雄将从周五到周日对中国进行为期三天的正式访问，此次访华是岸田文雄担任外相三年以来的首次，也是日本外相4年半以来的首次访华。来源:英语新闻
